Oakland Asian Cultural Center Presents

“Sky, Mountain & Waterscape” Ink Wash Landscape Paintings by Kam Cheung Mok

June 30th to August 30th, Oakland Asian Cultural Center, Oakland CA

Opening Reception July 6th at 6 pm, OACC, Free Open to the Public

“Sky, Mountain & Waterscape” is a painting series consisting of twenty-five Chinese ink wash landscape paintings documenting memorable natural landscapes around the world. Subject matter includes wildflower field in China, glaciers in Norway, cherry blossoms in Japan, and waterfall in Yellowstone. Terrains, rivers, waterfalls, and skies vary in color and mood, transporting the viewer to different seasons and geographic locations. Rather than just painting landscapes in the traditional Chinese ink-wash method, colors palettes are used to capture the mood and add contemporary western flavor. All of these paintings are inspired by Kam Cheung’s keen observation, careful composition, and detailed analysis of the landscapes he has visited during his travels. We hope you will find a place of resonance in this series.
